Hisashi Iwakuma returns to Japan for exclusive reasons, but Mariners anticipate him to create following start

Well, this was certainly a little bit of the surprise. Mariners pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma, who took a no-decision yesterday within a five-inning performance, has left the celebration temporarily and flown home to Japan for "personal reasons" which have not been disclosed.

Mariners manager Eric Wedge stated this afternoon that Iwakuma should make his following start, this coming Monday in opposition to the Toronto Blue Jays. In fact, Iwakuma is anticipated back again in Seattle on Saturday. converse about a fast turnaround.

In other news, the Mariners have additional "Mr. Mariner" Alvin Davis to their participant progress personnel getting a roving minor league instructor. Davis -- a past AL Rookie in the yr -- was the principal Mariner inducted in to the team's Hall of Fame in 1997 shortly after actively playing using the M's from 1984 to 1991.

"I am genuinely excited to include Alvin to our participant progress staff," Mariners director of participant progress Chris Gwynn stated within a release. "His knowledge, intellect and training ability will support our youthful game fanatics as they progress through our system."
